On Wednesday July 6th, 2022 a delegation from the American University of Kurdistan (AUK) headed by Ms. Loucine Hayes, the Director of the Center for Academic and Professional Advancement visited the University of Zakho and met with both Prof. Dr. Sattar A. Haji, the Director of Pedagogical Training and Development Center, and Asst. Prof. Mr. Ivan H. Murad, the Director of Language Center. The visit came after both universities signed an MoU to collaborate in conducting a number of academic events and activities. The main purpose of the visit was to discuss and collaborate in conducting several language and training courses. It is worth mentioning that the meeting lasted for about an hour followed by two sessions of teaching practice evaluation. During the meeting, a list of courses (language and development courses) was put forward and thoroughly negotiated including (Excel, IELTS, TOEFL ibt & iTP, English language course for adult and young learners etc...). After that, the delegation along with both Dr. Sattar and Mr. Ivan joined two demo teaching sessions presented by two teaching staff at the University of Zakho for the purpose of teaching practice evaluation.

The visit ended with a short orientation session in which the delegation was better acquainted with the teaching facilities both centers have in terms of teaching halls, offices, and testing labs. At the end of the meeting, Ms. Loucine and the accompanying team thanked both Dr. Sattar and Mr. Ivan for the fruitful outcome of the meeting.

It is worth mentioning that this visit would be followed by a series of other visits both the University of Zakho and the AUK would conduct in the future.
